“Working with Marianne created a love of learning in my son, age 7/8 when he started to work with her. As she worked to meet him on his level, using humor and great communication, Max WANTED to go to tutoring. Marianne was flexible and resourceful - going to the library to get books that were just right for his interesting style of learning.
Max loves books and stories, since a young age, but he had quite a lag in his actual skill to read. This caused him to be stuck reading Level 1 / 2 books himself, when he was listening to books on CD or listening to stories that were much more advanced. Marianne worked with us to find alternative options to keep his interest and match his reading level.
Once Max was diagnosed with Dysgraphia, we were able to add writing skills into his work, opening up that opportunity for him to gain confidence that translated to reading.
Max is now reading the C.S. Lewis Chronicles of Narnia series, slowly, but it is grabbing him and I find him picking it up and wanting to read it. That is all we ever wanted. Thanks Marianne!!"
